Who we are

YourSalaryNegotiator ("we", "us", "our") operates yoursalarynegotiator.com — a free salary negotiation tool. Our contact email is hello@yoursalarynegotiator.com.

What data we collect

We collect data in two ways:

• Voluntarily provided: When you submit your email address through the calculator gate or any sign-up form, we collect your first name, last name (optional), and email address.
• Automatically collected: When you visit the site, Google Analytics 4 collects anonymised usage data including pages visited, time on site, device type, and general geographic location (country/region level). No personally identifiable information is included in analytics data.

We do not store the salary figures, job titles, or offer details you enter into the calculator. All calculator data is processed locally in your browser and never sent to our servers.

How we use your data

• Your email address is used to send you the negotiation resources you requested and occasional relevant updates about new tools or content.
• Analytics data is used to understand how people use the site and improve it over time.
• We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any automated decision-making.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

• ConvertKit — email marketing platform that stores subscriber email addresses and names. ConvertKit is GDPR compliant. See their privacy policy at convertkit.com/privacy.
• Google Analytics 4 — anonymised website analytics. Data is processed under Google's privacy policy. We have IP anonymisation enabled.
• Hostinger — web hosting. Standard server logs (IP addresses, request timestamps) may be retained for up to 30 days for security purposes.

Cookies

We use the following cookies:

• Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _gid) — used for anonymised analytics. These expire after 2 years and 24 hours respectively.
• Session storage — we use browser sessionStorage (not cookies) to remember whether you've submitted your email in the current session, so you don't see the gate modal again. This clears automatically when you close your browser tab.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party remarketing cookies.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Unsubscribe from emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email we send
• Withdraw consent for data processing at any time

Data retention

We retain subscriber email data for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, your data is deleted from our active lists within 30 days. You can also request immediate deletion by emailing us directly.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has submitted data to us, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy periodically. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
